REPAIR AND RESTORATION OF THE CHURCH BUILDING.
Between 2004 and 2008 all of the high level stonework, including the spire, was inspected and repaired as required. All the windows were surveyed and repaired and given protection.
The work required an expenditure of nearly £500,000. This was made possible by large grants from English Heritage and the Veolia Environmental Trust. Other contributors included The Garfield Weston Trust, the Allchurches Trust, the Diocese of Winchester, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons and the Barker-Mills Trusts. The congreagation contributed £17,000 to this phase of restoration in addition to the £25,000 that it had given when problems first appeared in 1994.
We thank God for the remarkable transformation which has been effected in the building.
